To begin creating a new floorplan map in FormSketch, it is easiest to begin with the walls. First select the building option in the menu at the bottom of the screen.

The wall tool is the first selection offered in the next menu, and there are three different sizes that determine the thickness of the wall lines that you will be drawing. Select one of those and then click/tap on the screen where you would like to begin the wall. You can then tap/click another spot where you would like that wall to end.

While the indicator at the end of the wall is green, you and drag it around to the length or angle that you would like the wall to be.

To start another wall from the end of that one, tap the end again, and then tap where you would like the next wall to end. You can also measure the walls to create an accurately scaled map.

(Note: You can change the measurement type with the grid settings - Can I edit the Grid Properties for my map?)

To add a door or a window, you can select either of the icons and then simply click on the wall where you would like them to be added.

Once you have placed the door, you can select it with the arrow in order to resize it. You're also given options to flip is horizontally or vertically in order to portray the door swing accurately.

After placing a window, it can also be selected and moved or size increased or decreased.
