A dynamic list (or multiline database) in Formitize is a lookup database that can automatically fill in multiple rows of data in a form. Instead of typing details manually, you select from a list, and it fills in the relevant information across several rows. This saves time and avoids the need to add extra fields for each data entry.
How to link a multiline database to your form:
Go to the Web Portal > Forms > Existing Templates.
Click the ID of the template you want, then open the Form Builder.
Select the text field you want to link to the database.
In the right panel, click ‘Lookup’, choose the database, and select the main title.
Click ‘Add Group’:
Under ‘Group By’, choose the column that matches the main title.
Tick ‘Multiple Entries’ to enable multiline data.
Click ‘Add Items’ to map:
The database column (first dropdown).
The destination field in the form (second dropdown).
Once linked, a magnifying glass icon will appear above the field to show it’s connected.
